Korg made a major breakthrough at the time, offering a low cost expansion card for Trinity users, which incorporated the whole sound engine of the Prophecy into the already powerful workstation.
Gone was the arpeggiator and some minor features, but the editing was much
improved through the Trinity's big touchscreen, and the workstation's effects
processing was a huge improvement over the Prophecy's basic set.
Technically, the Prophecy offered one-note monophony, several effects (including
distortion, wave shaping, delay/reverb and chorus/flanger), and 128 memory
locations for user sound programs.
The Korg uses the same Multi-Oscillator Synthesis System (MOSS) tone generator found in the Korg Prophecy.

OVERVIEW 37 velocity keys with aftertouch. The main panel features a 40 X 2 lines display, 7 knobs and 40 push buttons. In addition 5 assignable knobs for real-time parameters, 2 wheels for pitch bending and modulation with an extra special 3-axis wheel with ribbon control.
OSCILLATORS TECH CPU UPD-70433GD + H8 (3003) MOSS Multi Oscillator Synthesis System - MOSS synthesis is complicated but offers great sonic possibilities aimed to emulate modelled acoustic brass and reed instruments.
A Prophecy patch can be created using 4 elements:
- MOSS digital oscillator 1 (5 v.a models)
- MOSS digital oscillator 2 (same models)
- digital white noise
- suboscillator 4 shapes: sinewave, square, sawtooth and triangle.
MOSS OSCILLATOR each digital MOSS oscillator can be set to 1 of the 7 V.A models: 4 Virtual Acoustic sound generations + 1 special VA "APM" with 3 submodels.Then sound generators can be chained in pair following 12 algorithms.
